Your travel to the Salzkammergut

Whether by car or sustainable by train. The journey to Ebensee am Traunsee is uncomplicated. The only way for guests to reach the Feuerkogel is the Feuerkogel mountain cable car which leads from Ebensee up to Edelweiss Berggasthof. The mountain cable car runs every half hour daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (last ascent).
By car
Please keep in mind that you can only reach the Feuerkogel by cable car. If you travel by car you can park it for free at the valley station of the Feuerkogel cable car. There are enough free parking spaces.
- From Vienna/Linz
A1 motorway heading towards Salzburg – exit Regau – B145 Salzkammergut road towards Regau – Gmunden – Ebensee. - From Graz
A9 motorway towards Salzburg/Linz – exit Selzthal B320 – towards Liezen/Schladming
- – after about 19 km, take B145 Salzkammergut road – over Bad Mitterndorf, Bad Aussee, Bad Goisern, Bad Ischl to Ebensee.
- From Germany/Munich
A8 motorway towards Salzburg – A1 towards Wels/Linz – exit Regau – B145 Salzkammergut road – follow the road until you reach Ebensee at Lake Traunsee. - From Carinthia
A10 motorway towards Salzburg – exit Eben in Pongau – Katschberg road B99 – Pass Gschütt road B166 – in Gosaumühle turn off onto B145 Salzkammergut road – via Bad Goisern and Bad Ischl to Ebensee.
Arrival by train
You can reach Ebensee by train (ÖBB). The station is called „Ebensee Landungsplatz Bahnhof“ and from here you can take the taxi or a 10 minutes walk to the valley station of the cable car.
Since 1927, a cable car leads up to the Feuerkogel – until today painted in the typical Feuerkogel-red.
Feuerkogel cable car
The cable car runs every half hour beginning at 8:30 am. The last ascent is scheduled for 5.00 pm! Tickets can be bought at the counter of the valley station or online.
